1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Bookmark42 (operated by WhizzySoftware), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

2. Description of Service

Bookmark42 is a study platform that provides a textbook reader, AI Chat Buddy, chapter-wise assessments, and note-taking tools. The platform is currently in early access, and features may change, be added, or be removed as we continue development.

3. User Accounts

  • You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • You must be at least 13 years old to use Bookmark42. If you are under 18, you should have parental or guardian consent.

4. Acceptable Use

When using Bookmark42, you agree not to:

  • Upload content that you do not have the right to use or distribute.
  • Use the platform for any unlawful purpose.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or our systems.
  • Use automated tools to scrape, copy, or extract data from the platform.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the platform's operation.

5. Uploaded Content

You retain ownership of any textbooks, notes, and other content you upload to Bookmark42. By uploading content, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display that content solely to provide you with the platform's features (reading, AI explanations, assessments).

We do not claim ownership of your uploaded content, and we will not share it with other users or third parties except as needed to operate the AI Chat Buddy feature (see our Privacy Policy).

6. Subscription and Payments

  • Bookmark42 offers a free trial and paid subscription plans as described on our Pricing page.
  • Paid subscriptions are billed monthly. Prices are listed in Indian Rupees (INR).
  • You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your subscription at any time. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing cycle.
  • We reserve the right to change pricing with reasonable notice.

7. AI Chat Buddy

The AI Chat Buddy provides explanations and answers based on your uploaded content. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated responses may not always be correct or complete. The AI Chat Buddy is a study aid and should not be relied upon as the sole source of information for academic work.

8. Service Availability

Bookmark42 is currently in early access. We aim for high availability but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. We may occasionally need to perform maintenance or updates that temporarily affect access. We will try to provide advance notice when possible.

9. Limitation of Liability

Bookmark42 is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. WhizzySoftware shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including but not limited to loss of data or academic outcomes.

10. Account Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms of Service. You may also delete your account at any time by contacting us. Upon deletion, your uploaded content and personal data will be removed from our systems within a reasonable timeframe.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or by posting a notice on the platform. Continued use of Bookmark42 after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of Bookmark42 shall be resolved in the courts of India.
